Robert E. O’Leary
Robert E. O’Leary, better known as Bobby grew up in the Clarence area and attended Clarence schools from 3rd grade until high school graduation. He has fond memories of his time there and maintains friendships with many Clarence residents. Bobby played basketball for Clarence and formed close bonds, including with the Nicholas family. He held various part-time jobs and was involved with the Lions Club and Odd Fellows Bowling.
In 1959, Bobby enlisted in the Army and served until his honorable discharge in 1962. He was stationed in different locations, including Texas, New Jersey, Missouri, Korea, and the Niagara Falls Air Station. Bobby achieved the rank of SP-4 and received the Army Commendation Medal.
After his military service, he continued his education at Canisius College and the University at Buffalo. Bobby eventually moved to California, where he met his wife Connie. They now reside in Garden Grove, and Bobby, after retiring, enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.
Bobby always reflects on Clarence as a wonderful town to grow up in.
